Mixed Ration Silage Containing Tanzania Grass and Babassu By-Products for Dairy Cows

چکیده

The use of mixed ration silage (MRS) provides animals with a diet formulation that meets their nutritional requirements. This study aimed to evaluate the fermentative profile, losses, chemical composition and in vitro dry matter digestibility silages, including babassu by-products as feed alternative for dairy cows. A completely randomized design was used, four treatments five replications, which were composed TGS: Tanzania grass silage; MRSS: corn soybean meal; MRSF: corn, meal flour; MRSC: cake. There significant difference between MRS TGS (p < 0.05) variables’ pH, gas (GL) effluent losses (EL), recovery (DMR), water-soluble carbohydrates (WSC), (DM), crude protein (CP) total digestible nutrients (TDN). no statistical buffer capacity (BC), acid detergent lignin, hemicellulose, ether extract (EE) aerobic stability. However, ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) non-fibre carbohydrate (NFC) content, lower values observed 0.001). by-products, cake flour, can replace by up 50% grass, meeting requirements

Maize silage for dairy cows

This paper reviews the use of maize silage in pastoral dairying systems in New Zealand. The evolution of dairying systems to make profitable use of maize silage and other supplementary feeds has occurred during the last decade in conjunction with an increased use of maize silage. When used within recommended levels of feeding, maize silage provides a low cost source of starch and fibre which co...

Duodenal glucose increases glucose fluxes and lactose synthesis in grass silage-fed dairy cows.

The effect of intestinal glucose supply on whole body rate of glucose appearance (WBGRa) and mammary utilization of glucose was studied in four lactating dairy cows. Glucose (0, 443, 963 and 2398 g/d) was continuously infused in the duodenum over 14-d periods using a Latin square design. A grass silage-based diet was formulated so that treatments were isoenergetic and isonitrogenous and contain...

Duodenal infusion of glucose decreases milk fat production in grass silage-fed dairy cows.

Four lactating dairy cows were arranged in a 4 x 4 Latin square design to study the effect of intestinal glucose supply on milk fat synthesis. Glucose (0, 443, 963, and 2398 g/d) was continuously infused in the duodenum over 14-d periods. Grass silage-based diets were formulated to be isoenergetic and isonitrogenous and met 100 and 110% of energy and protein requirements according to INRA (1989...

Lactational responses to postruminal infusions of amino acids in dairy cows fed maize silage, hay or grass silage.

Duodenal infusions of methionine and ly-sine have been shown to increase milk protein yield in dairy cows given a dehydrated maize diet (Rulquin, 1987). As du-odenal amino acids (AA) profiles vary according to diet (Le Henaff, unpublished), a trial was undertaken to test the lactational responses of dairy cows to methionine and lysine infusions with 3 other diets based on either maize silage (M...

The effect of protein supplementation on nitrogen utilization in lactating dairy cows fed grass silage diets.

The study set out to examine the effects of supplementing grass silage with various levels of protein concentration and degradability on dietary nitrogen (N) excretion in lactating dairy cows consuming at least 60% forage. Six Holstein/Friesian cows in early to midlactation were offered six diets comprising two levels of crude protein (210 and 290 g/kg DM) and three levels of protein degradabil...
